Poll: Have you ever successfully completed a 'juice cleanse'?
Youtube Youtube
LAST WEEK, AMERICAN actor and producer Viola Davis appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
While on the show, she had a chat about a new children’s book that she worked on and spoke about her new movie Widows where she stars alongside Liam Neeson and Michelle Rodriguez. While on set, there was a makeup artist who claimed to have a third eye who decided to cleanse the whole crew with meditation and a new diet. Davis explained:
The makeup artist wanted everyone to do it for 28 days, but Viola managed to last just two days because her niece called her up and annoyed her on the phone so she decided she needed to pay a visit to McDonald’s drive-thru and treat herself to a large vodka soda afterwards.
Although juice cleanses were very popular for a while there, it’s safe to say that the general public were engaging with them for very reasons than Viola Davis was. Most people just used them as a quick weight loss tool before a holiday or special event, rather thank to clean their chakras and rid themselves of any excess anger.
Of course, juice cleanses and detoxes have long been proven to be pretty useless. Your body already detoxes itself quite efficiently without the assistance of a €200 30-day supply of teabags you bought from Instagram. Unfortunately, a lot of people have to find that out the hard way. We’re wondering if you were one of them.
